KUALA LUMPUR, July 27 — Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd is seeking public feedback on the proposal to enhance sustainability practices and disclosures in the marketplace, which includes changes to the listing requirements.

The consultation paper, which includes a Sustainability Reporting Guide, would help the listed issuers recognise sustainability-related issues affecting their business, provide guidance on how to embed sustainability within their business in line with the listing requirements' proposed changes, the local bourse said in a statement.

Chief Executive Officer Datuk Tajuddin Atan said enhanced sustainability disclosures through the proposal would help meet the needs and expectations of investors and stakeholders and ultimately improve the integrity, quality and sustainability of the marketplace.

“As a gateway to a ca’al market, a stock exchange is uniquely placed to promote better disclosures of non-financial information and greater transparency on sustainability issues,” he added.

Bursa Malaysia would also offer other guidance and training to listed issuers to assist them in improving sustainability performance and reporting in order to foster stronger sustainability practices. — Bernama
