KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 — Bursa Malaysia remained easier at mid-morning today, weighed by weak buying support, dealers said.
At 11.01am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) slipped 5.47 points to 1,772.03, after fluctuating between 1,775.04 and 1,771.94.
Losses were mostly seen in bluechips and key heavyweights led by DiGi, which saw its share decline by nine sen to RM4.88 with 2.573 million lots changing hands.
The telecommunications counter dragged the composite index down by 1.26 points.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index fell 67.8 points to 16,499.31, the Industrial Index eased 2.16 points to 3,040.03, and the Plantation Index shed 0.21 point to 8,348.57.
The FBM Emas Index lost 28.59 points to 12,336.91, and the FBM100 Index erased 29.05 points to 12,073.91.
However, the FBM 70 inched up 0.04 point to 14,114.84, and the FBM Ace rose 17.3 points to 5,391.09.
Decliners led advancers 234 to 220, with 295 counters unchanged, 862 untraded and 15 others suspended.
Volume stood at 606.037 million shares worth RM345.409 million.
Among actives, Naim Indah added one sen to 13.5 sen, Sersol gained 2.5 sen to 48 sen, but Green Packet trimmed four sen to 56 sen.
Of the heavyweights, Petronas Chemicals earned two sen to RM6.88 while Sime Darby was flat at RM9.45.
However, Maybank slipped three sen to RM9.84, Axiata Group shed two sen to RM6.90 and CIMB lost four sen to RM7.42. – Bernama
