KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 — A total of 225 Malaysian medical personnel will depart for the Holy Land next week to serve during the 1447H/2026 haj season.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said that despite ongoing geopolitical challenges in West Asia, haj operations remain well-managed through strong diplomacy by the Madani government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and cooperation with the Saudi Arabian government.
“When the government has done its best, I hope personnel on the ground will respond with the highest level of commitment. This year’s operations also require the team to be more responsive and dynamic.
“The absence of a Tabung Haji (TH) treatment centre means pilgrims will be referred directly to Saudi government hospitals, requiring personnel to demonstrate proactiveness, patience and diplomacy,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Earlier, Dr Dzulkefly met the 225 personnel at a session with the Ministry of Health’s top management in Putrajaya.
He also congratulated them and reminded them to carry out their duties responsibly for the sake of the nation, religion and humanity. — Bernama
