KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 — Malaysian rapper Namewee has denied allegations linking him to the death of Taiwanese influencer Hsieh Yu-hsin, known as “Nurse Goddess”, calling the reports baseless and infuriating.

In a statement written in Chinese on Instagram, the 41-year-old said he was “really pissed off” by false news reports and public speculation surrounding the incident.

He clarified that he had not taken or possessed any drugs, adding that “at most, I’ve been drinking a bit more lately.”

“Believe it if you want to, don’t if you don’t want to,” he wrote, urging the public to wait for the results of a police investigation expected to take “two or three months.”

Namewee said he had refrained from responding earlier as the case was still under investigation and he was not allowed to disclose details.

He also alleged that he and his team had been subjected to blackmail in recent days, warning those involved that he was “ready to go all the way.”

Expressing grief over Hsieh’s sudden death, he wrote, “As for You Xin’s sudden death, we are deeply saddened. R.I.P.”

He criticised the emergency response time, claiming the ambulance took nearly an hour to arrive after his call to the 999 hotline.

“When I called to ask, they even scolded me... knnbccb,” he added, using an expletive common in Hokkien slang.

According to Sin Chew Daily, Hsieh was found dead in a hotel bathtub on Oct 30 while filming a video project with Namewee.

The newspaper reported that Namewee discovered Hsieh unresponsive in the bathroom, attempted CPR, and called emergency services at 12.30pm.

Police later confirmed that the case was under investigation, with newspaper claiming the rapper had been charged with drug use or possession.
