IPOH, Aug 9 — The Indonesia-Malaysia-Thai Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) is a platform between the three countries to carry out coordinated efforts for the sustainable management of natural resources, said Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said.

He said sustainable management of natural resources includes forests, water, wildlife as well as strengthening cooperation in the management and restoration of ecosystems in border areas.

“It requires cooperation between the three countries and there needs to be mutual understanding, for example, if there is haze, the impact is whole so that’s why we need to understand the ways and methods of forest management,” he said.

He was speaking to reporters after chairing the sixth Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Sub-Regional Green Cooperation Council meeting here today.
