KUALA LUMPUR, June 11 — Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi arrived at Istana Negara at 9.54am today.

He was scheduled to meet Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at 10am today.

He waved at the media from the rear seat of his white Toyota Vellfire, as he entered Gate 2 of Istana Negara.

The grand old party’s president then exited the palace at 11am and had a press briefing with the media.

He stated Umno's stance on reconvening Parliament and said the Emergency must be lifted as scheduled on August 1.

Also present was MIC president Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran who arrived at Istana Negara at 10.54am and left at 11.38am.

Yesterday, Pejuang pro-tem chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong had their respective audiences with Al-Sultan Abdullah.

It was reported that the Agong summoned key political party leaders for audiences to hear their opinions on the current Covid-19 situation and the state of Emergency, among other matters.
