KUALA LUMPUR, July 20 — Parti Warisan Sabah permanent chairman Datuk Liew Vui Keong said the party is ready to consider allowing former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to join its ranks.

Astro Awani reported him as saying that this could be a possibility, but that it would require amending Warisan's constitution beforehand.

"The possibility is there, but for the time being Warisan is focusing on Sabah only, but its constitution could be amended to become Parti Warisan Malaysia," Liew said during a working visit to Kampung Sirabut in Sandakan, Sabah, yesterday.

The former de facto law minister also opened the door to other MPs who might want to join Warisan in its struggles.

It was earlier reported that some quarters had pushed for Langkawi MP Dr Mahathir to be included in Warisan.

The former Parti Pribumi Bersatu founder and five other founding MPs’ memberships were annulled after refusing to join Perikatan Nasional and support Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as prime minister.
