KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 ― PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has successfully undergone an orthopedic minor procedure at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL), where he was admitted at 10am today.
In a statement, his family said the procedure went well without any complications under the care of the hospital’s Orthopedic and Traumatology team.
Anwar has been given permission to return to the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital to rest and receive follow-up treatment.
“Today, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was brought to HKL at 10am for a minor procedure under the care of a team of specialists from the Orthopedic and Traumatology Department, headed by Datuk Dr. Fazir Mohamad.
“Alhamdulillah the procedure went well and smoothly,” his family said in a statement.
His family extended their gratitude to friends and peers who wished for Anwar’s well-being, including Health Ministry deputy director-general Datuk Dr Jeyaindran Sinnadurai, who was also present during the procedure.
Prior to this, Anwar had received treatment at the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital after undergoing a laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery to his right shoulder on Nov 12 last year.
He is currently serving a five-year sentence at the Sungai Buloh Prison.
