KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8 — AmBank Group is ready to assist its customers who are affected by floods in the northern states of Peninsular Malaysia.
In a statement today, AmBank Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir said those affected could contact the 24-hour AmBank Contact Centre at 03-2178 8888 or visit the nearest branch for assistance.
He said AmBank would consider up to six months moratorium for monthly instalments/repayments from the flood victims, and a one-off waiver relating to late payment/penalty charges.
It would also waive charges for affected customers seeking replacement for their automated teller machine (ATM) cards, debit and credit cards, passbooks, cheque books or any banking related documents, which had been destroyed or lost in the floods.
Small and medium enterprise (SME) customers, who require additional funding to tide over this period, can also apply for the RM500 million disaster relief facility provided by Bank Negara Malaysia through AmBank by contacting their relationship managers. — Bernama
