KOTA KINABALU, Oct 31 — Kepayan assemblyman Dr Edwin Bosi, partyless since quitting DAP in August, will be joining local Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri (AN) tomorrow.
Its president Datuk Henrynus Amin said that Bosi, formerly Sabah DAP deputy liaison chief, had contacted him two days ago, confirming his decision to join AN together with 30 of his close supporters.
“The party headquarters at Inanam Kapital has been notified and we are making the necessary preparation to receive his membership application,” said Henrynus, adding that there will be a simple ceremony tomorrow in Donggongon.
He said that the decision was welcome after a long period of silence from Dr Bosi as the latter weighed his options and future prospects after leaving DAP.
“We were waiting for him and we are happy that he has finally made the right decision,” he said in a statement here.
Dr Bosi left DAP in August this year, citing differences with State liaison chief Stephen Wong, and a three month suspension period for airing his grievances against the party publicly.
“Bosi is a people oriented leader who has dedicated himself to the cause of the Anak Negeri even when he was in DAP,” he said adding that Bosi now had a new home for his political struggle.
Henrynus said he would not speculate as to what Dr Bosi’s eventual position in the party would be but confirmed the latter will be leading the party branch in Penampang to prepare for the 14th general elections due by next August.
“We are happy to accept him and all his supporters to Parti Anak Negeri. His entry to our party could just be the tipping point we have been waiting for all this while,” he said.
Henrynus also said AN is open to Malaysians who are born in Sabah or Sarawak and who subscribe to the party aims and objectives.
The party, formerly known as Parti Kerjasama Rakyat Sabah (Pakar) was formed as a new platform to reunite the people of Sabah, especially natives who are “politically fragmented, scattered into several political parties, most of whom might have lost their way in the political wilderness.”
Pakar was officially approved by the Registrar of Societies in 2013. The change to the name was approved in July.
