KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 ― Traffic flow was slower than normal on several major highways in the afternoon due to higher volume and the situation is expected to prolong until late evening, according to the highway authorities.

A spokesman of PLUS Malaysia Berhad said traffic flow was reportedly slower in both directions between Pendang and Sungai Petani in Kedah, between Permatang Pauh and Perai in Penang and between Bukit Merah and Taiping as well as up to the Menora Tunnel in Perak.

“Traffic flow was also slower than normal between the Menora Tunnel and Simpang Pulai and between Bidor and Sungkai in Perak,” he said to Bernama.

The spokesman said that south of Kuala Lumpur, traffic flow was slower than normal at various stretches, including between Senawang and Pedas Linggi in Negri Sembilan, at Ayer Keroh and between Kulai and Sedenak in Johor.

A spokesman of the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said traffic flow was slower than normal from Bukit Tinggi to Kuantan on the East Coast Expressway.
