KUALA LUMPUR, June 17 ― Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor's lawyers have warned the public against making baseless accusations against the prime minister’s wife, or they may risk facing legal action.

In a statement today, law firm Messrs Noor Hajrah Mohd Noor said that the law firm would also be “closely monitoring” the cyberspace, keeping a lookout for false and malicious attacks against Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s wife.

“Recently, more malicious and baseless attacks have surfaced and made against Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, on blogs and social media,” the legal firm said in the statement.

“These attacks are false allegations made without any proof and/or basis, done with malice with the sole intent of putting Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor in disrepute, casting aspersions of alleged wrongdoings, causing harm and injury to her reputation.

“This media statement is to caution the public of making any false and malicious postings and statements, which can cause public confusion and misrepresentations of facts, with regards to allegations made against Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor,” the statement added.

“More specifically, publications and postings with unverified sources, and baseless contents, framed and intended as an indirect hate and gutter political attacks.”

The firm said that the media statement would serve as a notice to whoever who produces any malicious postings and publications against Rosmah.
