MIRI, June 12 — The police have crippled an armed robbery gang which allegedly robbed a convenience store in Tanjung Kidurong, Bintulu early this month following the arrest of four men.
Bintulu district police chief Supt Zailanni Amit said the suspects, aged between 16 and 32, were picked up about 12.30am today and they had confessed to have committed the crime at the premises on June 7.
“One of the suspects was detained after he was driving a four-wheel drive Chevrolet Colorado in a suspicious manner and upon questioning, he confessed to the robbery,” he said in a statement here today.
Zailanni said following the arrest, police hauled up three other accomplices of the man at three locations.
The case is being investigated under Section 395 and 397 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
