BESUT, June 11 — The Ministry of Higher Education is willing to help the Terengganu state government restore the Knowledge Park in Tembila, Besut, for the benefit of Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) students and staff.

Its minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said, the ministry’s secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Noorul Ainur Mohd Nur has been directed to carry out a survey of the Park recently to see the potential and aspects which can be featured.

The Knowledge Park which was developed under the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) development project on an area of 280 hectares at a cost of about RM300 million had been built since 2004.

However, the project was abandoned after a few years and in 2012 the construction project was revived by providing equipment for the construction of a hostel, student centre complex, convocation hall, a sports complex and a mini-stadium.
