KOTA BARU, Dec 7 — Kelantan has declared Dec 13 as a public holiday for the state in conjunction with the Sultan of Kelantan Sultan Muhammad V ascending the throne as the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob said during the date, the swearing in and signing of the instrument of office ceremony by Sultan Muhammad V would also take place at Istana Negara.
“I hereby declare that 13th Rabiul Awwal 1438H or December 13, 2016, as a public holiday for the state of Kelantan Darulnaim.
“Let us together pray to Allah Azzawajalla to bestow upon Sultan Muhammad V long life, good health and always be in God’s protection,” he said in a statement here today.
Sultan Muhammad V is scheduled to arrive in the federal capital on the morning of Dec 13 to attend the 244th (Special) Conference of Rulers Meeting, followed by the swearing in and signing of the instrument of office as the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong at the Balairong Seri, Istana Negara. — Bernama
