JAKARTA, Sept 12 — More than 600 Malaysians in this Indonesian capital city today celebrated Aidiladha on a moderate scale but in a festive atmosphere at the Embassy of Malaysia here.

The celebration began with the AidilAdha prayers at the embassy complex, led by the religious attache at the mission, Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ariffin.

After the Aidiladha sermon, Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohamed Hashim and his wife, Datin Seri Che Mahani Ismail, joined the

hundreds of fellow Malaysians in partaking in a variety of Malaysian food.

Zahrain said the embassy conducted the ritual slaughter of four cows and 12 goats and also distributed the meat to a selected number of poor people.

Embassy staff and their families as well as several Malaysian students in Jakarta helped to distribute the meat and cook lunch for the gathering. — Bernama
