ALOR SETAR, July 22 — As floodwaters continue to recede, more evacuees in four Kedah districts returned to their homes, leaving 281 at four relief centres in Yan and Pendang as at 10am today compared to 309 yesterday evening.
Thirteen relief centres had been closed as of this morning.
State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat Officer Major (PA) Imran Azemi said that in Yan, 48 evacuees were being house at the surau in Kampung Batu 22, forty-seven at the surau in Kampung Sungai Lintang and 72 at the Shukor Yan hall.
In Pendang, one relief centre remained open at the Cenderawasih hall with 114 evacuees, he said.
All the relief centres in the Baling and Kuala Muda districts had been closed, he added.
Imran said the weather in Kedah was fine this morning. — Bernama
