KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 22 — Police have obtained a four-day remand order against a man they arrested on suspicion of having started a fire that destroyed or damaged six cars at a parking lot in Taman Jaya, Petaling Jaya, yesterday.

Petaling Jaya Police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din said the man, in his 20s, was being held under Section 435 of the Penal Code pertaining to mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage.

The man was arrested at about 11pm in Petaling Jaya, he said.

At 12.58pm yesterday, a man hurled a petrol bomb at the car of his wife’s boyfriend in the parking lot in Taman Jaya, setting off the fire. — Bernama
