JOHOR BARU, Dec 17 — A businessman is fighting for his life at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital after he was targetted by a gunman outside his house in Saleng here last night.
The 39-year-old victim who sustained a gunshot wound in the head has been warded at the hospital’s intensive care unit.
Earlier, the gunman who was riding pillion on a motorcycle fired several shots in the direction of the businessman and his lorry driver employee at the house in Taman Gaya.
The 23-year-old employee sustained minor injuries in the 11pm incident before the gunman and his accomplice escaped.
State CID chief Senior Asst Comm Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the employee was warded at the hospital.
He said initial investigations revealed the attempted murder on the businessman might have been linked to an argument.
“The victim and his employee were chatting in front of the house when two men arrived on a motorcycle.
“At that juncture, the pillion rider fired several shots in the direction of the two men,” he told reporters at the Johor police headquarters here today. — Bernama
