KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 — Police have arrested another two police officers yesterday suspected of a criminal breach of trust involving a contract, worth RM1.5 million, to renovate the Bukit Aman building here.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said this brought the total number of those arrested to nine individuals so far and their remand would be extended as required.
“We have arrested the two officers yesterday to assist in the investigation.
“If the investigation is not completed yet, we will continue the remand,” he told reporters after officiating the 2015 IGP Karate Championship closing ceremony at Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz Sports Complex here today.
He said the police was still investigating if other individuals were involved in the case.
On November 22, seven individuals including a senior police officer were arrested for alleged criminal breach of trust involving a contract worth RM1.5 million to renovate and repair the Bukit Aman police headquarters.
Those arrested comprised a senior police officer, police subordinates and a contractor.
Police also seized several luxury cars and bank accounts belonging to them. — Bernama
