KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 ― PKR's Nurul Izzah Anwar confirmed today that she will be meeting the police tomorrow to record her statement over recent photographs of her with Sulu “princess” Jacel Kiram.

Speaking to reporters at the Parliament lobby here, Nurul Izzah said her interview is scheduled for 4pm at the Bukit Aman police headquarters.

“Tomorrow, I will go the police station to give my comments,” the Lembah Pantai MP said.

Asked to comment on the Sabah assembly approving a motion today to ban her from entering the state, Nurul Izzah said she would reserve her comments until tomorrow.

“I am going to the police station tomorrow, I will make my statement there with my lawyer,” she added.

Nurul Izzah had previously confirmed that she was in the Philippines on November 9 with fellow PKR lawmaker, Chua Tian Chang, as part of the party's delegation to meet with “various stakeholders” there, and explained that the guests were decided by the organisers and she had no knowledge she would be meeting Jacel.

Jacel's late father, the self-styled Sulu “sultan” Jamalul Kiram III, had ordered 200 armed men to attack Lahad Datu in Sabah in February 2013 to stake the sultanate’s claim over the state, resulting in the death of 10 Malaysian security personnel.
