KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 — PKR’s Nurul Izzah Anwar today said she might be meeting the police tomorrow over recent photos of her with Jacel Kiram, the daughter of Jamalul Kiram III, the man who ordered the invasion of Lahad Datu in Sabah in 2013.
Speaking to reporters outside the Dewan Rakyat, the Lembah Pantai MP said she received a call from officers from the Bukit Aman police headquarters.
“I might be meeting them tomorrow, I have gotten a call from Bukit Aman,” Nurul Izzah said.
She also defended her meeting with Sulu ‘princess’ Jacel Kiram, repeating that she has nothing to hide from the authorities and also the parliamentary rights and privilege committee.
Nurul Izzah added that her meeting with Jacel should not concern Parliament as it “happened outside Dewan Rakyat”.
Earlier today, the parliamentary order paper listed a motion to refer Nurul Izzah to Parliament’s rights and privileges committee on December 2 over recent photos of her with Jacel, the daughter of Jamalul Kiram III, the man who ordered the invasion of Lahad Datu in Sabah in 2013.
An aide, who asked not to be named, later clarified that the motion will only be tabled on December 3 after Parliament has concluded all business related to Budget 2016.
