KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 6 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the government is now preparing for the 2016 Budget which will be tabled in Parliament in October.
Thus, he invited the people to give their suggestions by submitting them to his website najibrazak.com/bajet2016/ before Sept 15.
“The government is preparing the #Bajet2016. Are there suggestions to be submitted to me? If so, do it before Sept 15 at https://najibrazak.com/bajet2016/,” he said in his latest tweet in his Twitter account, tonight.
The website which provides an opportunity to the people to contribute ideas in the preparation of the 2016 Budget, explained several categories which frequently became the focus in the previous budgets.
They included the cost of living, rural development, housing, health, transportation and infrastructure, economic development, education and security.
In addition, members of the public are given the opportunity to make other suggestions.
The Prime Minister had earlier said that the 2016 Budget was scheduled to be tabled in Parliament on Oct 23 with the focus on strengthening growth, expanding inclusiveness and ensuring fiscal sustainability.
Najib, who is also the Finance Minister, said the Budget this time would be the first budget under the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP) which was tabled in Parliament last May 21. — Bernama
