KUALA TERENGGANU, Sept 5 — The Star Online today reported that Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin requested Football Association of Malaysia president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah to act on the shameful performance of the national team and take action against those ‘around him’ in the association.

Khairy was quoted by the website to have said that he has almost reached a conclusion that those in the FAM are not fit to be there.

“They should start asking themselves if they should be there and pretend like nothing had happened, even after such a shameful incident,” Khairy said when asked if those in FAM should resign.

National football coach Dollah Salleh confirmed yesterday that he has resigned following Malaysia’s 10-0 drubbing at the hands of the United Arab Emirates in their World Cup qualifying match yesterday.

Malaysia lost to UAE in Abu Dhabi yesterday in the Asian Zone World Cup qualifiers, after the latter led by 7-0 in the half-time.
