KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 — A man drove a lorry without its tyres from Sentul to Dengkil while attempting to flee from the police early today.

In the incident, the 31-year-old lorry driver who was believed to be high on drugs had stolen a lorry from his workplace and the police were informed about it at about 1.40am.

Sentul District Police chief ACP R. Munusamy said the police started pursuing the suspect from Jalan Sentul heading towards Sungai Buloh, near MRR2, and they shot all the four tyres of the lorry after the suspect refused to stop the vehicle.

“The suspect (while driving) tried to ram into a police car and several other vehicles, as well as workers carrying out road works,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

The police finally arrested the man when the vehicle abruptly stopped moving at about 2.40am after the toll plaza nearby the Dengkil exit.

He said the suspect has been remanded for three days beginning today to assist with investigations. — Bernama
