KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 — Investigators have identified the remains of Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis and Datuk Azlin Alias from among the remains of six people killed in yesterday’s helicopter crash in Semenyih, the Prime Minister’s Office said today.

The bodies of the Rompin MP and the prime minister’s private chief secretary were recovered together with the rest of the fatalities last night, but had not been positively identified until now.

“Thank God, the remains of Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis and Datuk Azlin Alias have been identified and will be brought home for burial this morning,” said the PMO’s press office on Twitter.

Others killed in the crash include Kedah businessman Datuk Robert Tan; Cliff Fournier, the pilot and owner of Chempaka Aviation; Aidana Baizieva; and bodyguard Razakan Seran.

According to information provided by the Royal Malaysian Air Force, the helicopter was en route from Kuantan to Sungai Besi when it crashed at approximately 4.55pm yesterday.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has since ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.
