In KELANTAN, 19 people from Kampung Tok Kundur, Bukit Awang, in Pasir Puteh were evacuated to a relief centre last night after floods struck their village following heavy rain over the past two days.
An officer of the Department of Civil Defence in Pasir Puteh, Ramlan Ros Wahid, said the villagers were moved to Sekolah Kebangsaan Wakaf Raja here at about 8pm.
"Floodwaters rose to 1.5 metres at their houses after Sungai Petai burst its banks," he told reporters.
