BESUT, Aug 13 — Former Jerteh Assemblyman Abdul Majid Ahmad died today due to old age at Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) Hospital in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan.
He breathed last at about 2 am at the age of 76 with wife, Zuraidah Hussin, 58, by his side..
Abdul Majid served as Jerteh Assemblyman for one term, from 1986 to 1990.
His eldest son, Mohd Razif Abdul Majid, who confirmed the death, said his father’s body was brought home to Kampung Padang Luas, Jerteh, for prayers at 11 am and then buried at the village cemetery.
Abdul Majid was a headmaster at Sekolah Kebangsaan Tengku Mahmud in Alur Lintang, Besut, prior to him being fielded as a Barisan Nasional candidate in the 1986 general election. — Bernama
