She was the member of Parliament for Padang Serai for two terms following her victory at the 1999 and 2004 general elections.

Meanwhile, former MCA vice-president Datuk Seri Chor Chee Heung said Lim’s demise was a big loss to MCA as she was a hardworking leader in the party.

“I knew her since 1981 and we have worked together for the party. She was a very perseverant person. Despite her illness since 2006, she remained active in the party and became Kedah Wanita MCA chief, a post she held since 2004,” he said.

She was Wanita MCA vice-chairman for the 2005-2008 and 2008-2011 term and returned to hold the post in the 2013-2016 term after winning in the party election last year. — Bernama
