KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 — Leadership succession in leading ministries and departments is not a barrier to continuing existing relationships and sharing of experiences and ideas towards national development.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said the family cooperation established should be enhanced and achieve optimised in the realising the communication and multimedia sector.
“We cannot be complacent with the progress that has been achieved. The nation requires the contribution and ideas of all parties to move forward.
“We have to compete in order to maintain continuity of existing as well as receive new resources in the face of economic competition in a positive way,” he said at the Majlis Jasamu Dikenang 2013 at Hotel Pullman in Bangsar, here, last night.
Ahmad Shabery’s speech was read by his deputy, Datuk Jailani Johari.
The event was organised for the first time to recognise the efforts and contributions of the officers and employees who were the main pillars of the Ministry of Communication and Multimedia (KKMM).
A total of 172 retirees from various agencies under the ministry were feted at the event.
Present at the ceremony were KKMM deputy secretary-general I, Datuk Rothiah Omar and KKMM deputy secretary-general II, Datuk Che Azemi Haron.
Also in attendance were Bernama general manager Datuk Yong Soo Heong, editor-in-chief Datuk Zulkefli Salleh and editor of General News Services, Khaidzir Md Yunus.
Five Bernama retirees, Abdullah Mohamad (security guard), Ambia Tawil (office assistant), Rodziah Idris (office secretary), Rosli Nayan (office assistant) and Ululazmi Mat Hassan (administrative assistant) were celebrated at the occasion. — Bernama
