SHAH ALAM, Oct 11 — A former account clerk of an agriculture-based company was charged in the Sessions Court here today with criminal breach of trust (CBT), involving RM39,550, last year.

Lim Choon Wah, 55, however, pleaded not guilty.

Lim, then an account clerk at Fertile (M) Sdn Bhd, is charged with committing the offence by falsifying the signatures on 10 cheques for the amount and then deposited them into her personal account.

The offence was allegedly committed at the company premises at Persiaran Pedagang, Taman Bayu Perdana, Klang near here between January and December 2012.

If found guilty, Lim faces a maximum imprisonment for a term of 14 years and whipping and is liable to a fine.

Deputy public prosecutor Noor Hushnita Mohd Radzi, who prosecuted, did not offer bail, but Lim, who was unrepresented requested to be allowed bail as she had diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol level.

She also said she was now jobless and had three children to support after her husband died 15 years ago.

Judge G.Ramesh the allowed Lim to be released on a bail of RM10,000 in one surety.
