KUALA LUMPUR, March 28 — Imagine a world without mechanics. It would certainly be a chaotic one.

To honour the efforts of mechanics in ensuring our seamless mobility, automotive lubricant company Castrol held its fifth Castrol Hari Mekanik Malaysia campaign recently.

The initiative, themed Celebrating Malaysian Mechanics, was curated as an initiative to appreciate and raise awareness towards the unsung heroes of auto experts in Malaysia.

The annual campaign was kicked off with a classic video titled A World Without Mechanics.

The video showed multiple people stuck in a miserable situation after their car, school bus and motorbike broke down.

The sigh of relief was then felt after a mechanic came to the rescue.

Castrol is also hosting its Castrol Mechanics Contest from April 1 until May 31 to reward local mechanics at Castrol Auto Service workshops.

All entries can be submitted via the Motorist App, an exclusive application available to all Castrol Auto Service workshops.

Castrol Malaysia and Singapore marketing director Keow Mei-Shan said the company celebrates the Castrol Hari Mekanik Malaysia on March 18 to show its appreciation towards mechanics.

"At Castrol, we believe in the value and importance of our mechanics and strive hard to raise awareness in celebration of their service to us every day.

"Mechanics are the unsung heroes of the modern society and Castrol recognises their acts of service.”

All mechanics from the top three workshops, divided by regions, with the highest sales volume during the contest will win a Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro (128GB), worth RM1,149.

The top three workshops per region will also be credited with 8,000 EZ Rewards Points, worth RM800, that can be used to redeem rewards via the EZ Rewards platform.

Castrol also realised the dreams of two consumers, following the Castrol Game Changers contest in partnership with the Premier League.

The champions were flown to London to watch the Tottenham Hotspurs against Chelsea match in February at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium.

They were also given the opportunity to experience the exclusive Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium hospitality and spent time chatting with Spurs legend Michael Dawson.

Castrol has also released a limited-edition packaging for the Castrol EDGE 5W-40, featuring four Premier League star players, David De Gea from Manchester United, Jesse Lingard from Nottingham Forest, Michail Antonio from West Ham and Son Heung Min from Tottenham Hotspurs.
