KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 — Actor Harrison Ford is now officially going to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) .
Ford will star as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross alongside Anthony Mackie in 2024's Captain America: New World Order.
Following the passing of actor William Hurt, fans have been speculating who will take over the role with Ford’s name being the top pick.
General Ross is a top-ranking military official first introduced in the comics in 1962 before making his first cinematic appearance in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk.
Hurt's last portrayal as the General was in 2021’s Black Widow.
Captain America: New World Order will be written by Malcolm Spellman, creator of the 2021 Disney+ series, Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Details on the sequel’s plot are unknown.
