NEW YORK, Sept 15 — Nike and Jun Takahashi have unveiled the latest Gyakusou collection, which encourages urban runners to get out of the city with a new range of trail running apparel.

Inspired by the 1970s running revolution, Takashi has created a new six-piece collection for trail runners, which includes a rain top with zip-off hood, a long-sleeve top, two short-sleeve tops, a pair of shorts and a multi-functional pant, all designed with cutting-edge performance fabrics and with added storage solutions for when you’re out on long runs.

To meet the needs of trail runners, Takashi has also developed a new Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail shoe, which has been designed to take you easily from the trail to the road.

The new silhouette comes with overlays placed in areas where trail runners need support and reinforcement the most, but leaves open certain areas of the foot to keep it cool. The upper mesh of the shoe has a water-repellent coating, perfect for outdoor runs in the fall and is made from a quick-drying fabric in case you do get wet.

The Peg Trail shoe will be available in two colourways — one a classic red, white and blue combination and the other in Takahashi’s signature shades of earthy tones such as mustard yellow. The addition of a rose motif on the shoe represents the designer’s balance/chaos ethos through the contrast of the flower’s petals with its sharp thorns.
