BELFAST, Jan 3 — Anyone who has ever been home sick and felt too poorly to drag themselves to the pharmacy for meds will be able to relate to this story that has gone viral.

It all began when Feeley’s Fish & Chip Shop in Belfast received an unusual request from a regular customer on December 30.

In the “additional comments” section, Fiona Cuffe had written: “Will you please stop in Spar on the way and get me Benylin cold & flu tablets and I’ll give you the money, only ordering food so I can get the tablets I’m dying sick xx.”

Feeley’s shared a photo of the receipt on Facebook with the caption: “Good to see customers making use of the ‘add comments’ section!”

The chippy duly fulfilled the order and posted a picture of the flu pills before delivering them, with a “get well soon” message to the customer.

Feeley’s also said they would send a free meal if the woman let them know when she is better.

She gratefuly replied: “Yous [sic] are wee angels, will do.”

The original photo has been shared nearly 4,000 times on Facebook. It has also drawn over 1,600 comments of praise.

The restaurant’s social media manager, Daniel Casey, told CNN that they were “shocked to see such a strange request… but we operate in a small community… and our customers are the lifeblood of our business, and we will always do what we can for them.”
