KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 — If you enjoyed the two earlier discovery walks organised by Badan Warisan Malaysia, you’ll be glad to know there’s a another one coming up soon.
“This KUL city: Discover Kwala Lumpur”, organised by Badan Warisan Malaysia (BWM) in collaboration with Think City and the Malaysian Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society (MBRAS), will take you through many cultural and historical landmarks in the heart of the city such as the Sultan Abdul Samad building, the old Post Office, the Straits Trading Building, the Sze Ya Temple, Masjid India and P.H Hendry.
This is the third walk as part of the This KUL City programme and the starting point will be at the front entrance of the Sultan Abdul Samad building. From there on, the discovery walk will take participants through many cultural and historical landmarks in Kuala Lumpur.
This is a fully self-guided walk and participants will be given a map to guide them along the selected route. It is scheduled to take place on December 5, 2015 from 8am to 12pm with over 250 participants expected to join this third walk.
At each landmark, participants would be able to read interesting and historical facts of the place and also take part in activities at selected landmarks. The walking route is estimated to take two hours to complete.
The first discovery walk took place at Bukit Nanas in April followed by a second discovery walk at Brickfields. Both walks received overwhelming response, with close to 200 participants joining the walk.
Those who are interested to join the walk can register at Badan Warisan’s Facebook page (Heritage Malaysia) or visit their website. For more details, contact Melanie Anthony at 03-2144 9273 or email her at [email protected].
