NEW YORK, Sept 20 ― Serial biking champ Kenny Belaey is bored. With no fewer than four trials UCI World Championships under his belt, the Belgian decided to step out of his comfort zone and push the limits of what is physically possible.
What better way to do that than to ride his bike along a 20m-long slackline, 112m above a gorge at an altitude of 2,700m?
“The moment my wheel touched the actual slackline for the very first time, after months of training and preparation and while being so self-confident, the only thing I could think of was, ‘This is impossible!’,” says Belaey after crossing the gorge without falling.
“Every second on that slackline was a nightmare. Every inch gives a different feeling because the slackline constantly moves, changing the surroundings and making my orientation points disappear.”
Crazy, but ballsy.
