LONDON, Sept 9 — As thousands of people the world over are struggling with starvation, a rich Arab family living in United Arab Emirates has decided to splurge on what could possibly be the world’s most expensive cake: It costs a whopping £48.5million (RM321.63 million)!

A creation of haute couturier Debbie Wingham, the gem-encrusted birthday and engagement dessert is six feet long and includes 4,000 real diamonds.

Wingham is globally renowned for her beautiful and extravagant gowns and the cake is very true to the fashionista that she is. The garments on the runway resemble Wingham’s couture clothing, while many of the details are subtle nods to the clients’ interests like favourite publications and certain members in the audience were family members and close family friends.

Several of the models are also wearing gowns that are edible versions of pieces that Wingham had previously made for the client.

The cake took 1,100 hours to create and weighs 450kg. It also includes amethysts and emeralds.

Well, all we can say is this creation certainly takes the cake! The cake was made by Debbie Wingham who has turned to baking after creating the world’s most expensive dress.
