LOS ANGELES, Oct 16 — The nail brand has announced a new link up with No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani as well as a Spring 2014 collection inspired by Brazil.
OPI has teamed up with musician and designer Gwen Stefani to create a new nail colour collection available from January and inspired by this summer’s “Punk:Chaos to Couture” exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City.
OPI’s Artistic Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann worked with Stefani to create a seven-colour collection, packed with cunning references to her songs, including: ‘Hey Baby’, ‘I Sing in Colour’, ‘Love.Angel.Music.Baby.’, ‘4 in the Morning’, ‘In True Stefani Fashion’, ‘Push’ and ‘Shove’ (worn with ‘Lay Down that Base’) and ‘Over & Over A-Gwen’.
Celebrating Brazil, another Spring-Summer collection will appear in stores in February, mixing bright colours as well as earthier taupe, mocha, jungle green and sienna tones. The 12-nail lacquer and GelColour formulas (£11.50 each, RM58.50) also feature some pun-tastic names including: ‘Next Stop... The Bikini Zone’ (an amethyst-toned pewter), ‘Taupe-less Beach’ (a creamy nude), ‘Toucan Do It If You Try’ (orange) and ‘I’m Brazil Nuts Over You’ (a textured matte pink).
In addition there will be four limited edition ‘Beach Sandies’ Liquid Sand polishes in purple, pink, turquoise and yellow, giving a glittering matte finish to nails.
OPI has previously collaborated with rapper Nicki Minaj and singer Mariah Carey on nail colour collections. — AFP-Relaxnews
