KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26 — On January 29 and 30, KL diners will have an exclusive chance to drink the much-coveted Salon champagne, labelled as “a champagne every champagne lover should try and experience once in their life” brought to them by events website, DiineOut.com.
The dinners to be held at St Regis KL and Nadodi will also feature champagnes from their sister brand Delamotte reputed to be Chardonnay’s greatest advocate in champagne that produces only 800,000 bottles annually.
The event website, DiineOut.com, is the brainchild of Lionel Lau who runs his own public relations company. Similar to Eventbrite but with a big difference, this website specialises only in food and beverage events, making it easier for the interested diner to search in the vast Internet sea of information.
“I am selling curated F&B events,” he explained.

The website also offers a chance for restaurants to easily reach out to diners via a hassle-free method. Most importantly, the website also wants to promote that it’s not just about the dining but the whole experience.
It’s a win-win situation for both restaurants and diners. On one side, the restaurants will be able to easily sell their events, reaching out to their own database of contacts easily with flyers designed by DiineOut.com and also other new people.
There is also no need to handle phone calls as everything can be booked with a click of a mouse.
For interested diners seeking a different dining experience, they can discover it via DiineOut.com’s calendar that will make it easier to track down various events taking place in town. It will be a valuable tool for those who need to plan their social activities or even corporate events.
Currently, DiineOut.com is website-based but there are plans to roll out an app in the future.

The events have a range of prices to appeal to all types of diners. For instance, for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations, there will be a whisky and Chinese food pairing at the Fenix Restaurant for RM108 per person.
For the upcoming event on January 29 and 30, it will feature the house of Salon which is located in Côte de Blanc.
It has a stellar reputation as one of the houses that only makes vintage champagne from Chardonnay grapes that only make the mark with no blending.
Started by Eugène-Aimé Salon in 1921, only about 60,000 bottles are produced from their over 40 year old vines in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.

Since Salon is not made every year, on average you can only find three vintages per decade. In the last century, only 37 vintages have been made, earning it the rare reputation as the most sought after champagne in the world.
Their sister brand Delamotte was founded in 1760 and it is the fifth oldest champagne house. Both brands are now under Laurent- Perrier. It’s run by the President of Salon and Delamotte Didier Depond who will also be present at the dinners.
Born into a family of vine growers in Loire Valley, Depond inherited a love for wine since birth.
Together with Michel Fauconnet, Laurent-Perrier cellar master and head of vineyard, he has been tasked to continue Salon’s style.
The St Regis dinner will take place at The Brasserie on January 29 with an exquisite five-course French themed menu paired with a range of Delamotte and Salon champagnes.
Expect to dine on items such as fresh oysters with mi-cuit salmon, cucumber and watercress and pan seared scallops paired with caramelised cauliflower puree and kumquats.
For the dinner at Nadodi that will be held on January 30, you will experience an interesting pairing of their 11 mile journey menu of Nomadic flavours together with fine French champagnes.
Enjoy the likes of Hokkaido scallop paired with creamy sodhi, lobster ishtu and dry coconut, or pepper crusted lamb.
Drink up an unusual rasam elevated with Alaskan crab and dig into a country chicken biryani will also be served as the main dish.
Both dinners will feature the Salon Le Mesni 2006, the 40th vintage of Salon, a shimmering golden colour champagne with tiny bubbles and initial notes of white flowers, citrus zest and lightly toasted brioche.
As you drink it, you can also taste autumn with fresh hazelnuts, dried apricots and ripe yellow fruits.
