NEW YORK, Sept 19 — Whether baked, slow cooked or made on the stovetop, you can never go wrong with mac and cheese.
And even Hollywood star Terry Crews can’t seem to get enough of this cheesy delight and has shared his family’s secret recipe via YouTube channel Tasty.
For this recipe that will serve four to six people, you’ll need these ingredients: 1 pack (8 ounces) of elbow macaroni, 2 cups of cream-style cottage cheese (or small curd), 2 cups of sharp shredded cheddar cheese, 1 carton (8 ounces) of sour cream, 1 lightly beaten egg, 1/4 tsp of salt, 1 tbsp of coconut oil and paprika to garnish.
Before you begin, be sure to preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C.
Next, cook the macaroni till “al dente” according to package directions. Drain with cold water and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the cottage cheese, cheese, sour cream, egg, and salt. Mix well before folding in the macaroni.
Grease a 2-quart casserole dish with the coconut oil. Then spoon in the mixture and sprinkle with extra cheese and paprika.
Bake for 45 minutes or until cooked. Enjoy!
