KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 — It's a testament of its deliciousness when you walk into this place and diners at every table are slurping down bowls of prawn noodles.

This eatery located at the busy Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park sells only a few items. Headlining it is the prawn noodles, lor mee or a mix of both. For those who prefer a cleaner taste, there's also pork noodles, which seems to be a popular order for the children.

For breakfast, they also offer nasi lemak and fried noodles.

The prawn mee (RM10.90) is a glorious one due to its broth. There's a bit more heft as it has a slightly thicker consistency. I drank every drop of that broth which was well balanced and more savoury rather than toothaching sweet. Mix in the fried shallots for a more fragrant broth.

Pair it with the noodles which seem to take over the whole bowl. In terms of toppings, don't expect abundance. There's blanched pork slices, small peeled prawns, kangkung and bean sprouts. Since the prawns are rather small in size, you get a whole hard boiled egg in each bowl.

On the side, you have the sambal which is not overly spicy.

If you prefer a more substantial bowl with toppings, you can add on prawns and sliced pork for an extra RM2 each. There's also an option to add another whole egg for RM1. I even overheard one table ask for extra noodles for RM1.50.

For the lor mee (RM10.90), it's served with the same toppings except it comes with a starchy dark brown sauce. It's tasty though and I was happy to slurp down my noodles. In fact, I feel this version is genuinely Penang-style with its darker hue too.

This version tends to be a tad too thick with starch, which may not be to everyone's liking since Klang Valley is more attuned to the light brown and not thick type of sauce. I enjoyed it with the minced garlic and sambal served on the side.

In terms of accessibility, parking tends to be scarce around this busy area during weekdays. I went on a weekend which saw me easily getting a parking space.

There's comfortable air-conditioned seating inside the eatery but if you prefer al fresco dining, they also put some plastic tables and chairs in front. Cooking is also done at the front of the eatery so you can observe what they are cooking up.

For Chinese New Year, they will close from January 20 onwards. Currently there's no fixed date when they plan to reopen after the festivities.
