KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 — Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM), has something for people who want to stand out from the crowd, if you take the words of Managing Director, Erik Winter, as he unveiled the new Beetle, the Vento ALLSTAR and the Vento GT at the Mid-Valley Megamall today. Interested parties can still go the MidValley to check out these new cars as they will be there up to 28th May 2107.
“ We not only want to make our cars more accessible to Malaysians, but we also want to give them more options with value added benefits, whilst ensuring that the cars they drive are instant head-turners. With the new Beetle, the ALLSTAR series and the Vento GT, our customers now have an even wider array of products form Volkswagen in time for the upcoming Raya festivities,” said Winter.
The New Beetle
The latest edition of the iconic Beetle is priced at RM136,888.00 for the Beetle Design, while the Beetle Sport is priced at RM147,888.00. Six colour choices are available for would-be customers, and updates to the specifications include a 2-Zone Climatronic air-conditioning system, composition media with touch screen display wtih App-Connect, leather trim ‘Vienna’ seats with front seat lumbar support, bi-xenon headlamps and LED daytime running lights.
Powering the Beetle is a 1.2 litre turbocharged TSI engine with an output of 105PS and 175Nm of torque. Mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission, power is transferred to the front wheels.
Customers have a choice between the Design and Sport variant in six vibrant colours. The Design is priced at an affordable RM136,888.
The Vento Allstar
The Vento Allstar is the second Allstar edition introduced by VPCM, the first being the Polo Allstar introduced recently. Priced from RM78,888.00, the Vento Allstar is available in Reflex Silver and Candy White. The Vento Allstar comes with RM7,000 worth of exclusive accessories such as leather seats, aluminium sports pedals, rear spoiler, black door strips and trunk garnish, “Allstar” scuff plates, emblems and carpet mats.
The Vento Allstar is powered by a 1.6 litre MPI engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic function. Power output is 105PS with a maximum torque rating of 153Nm, and rated fuel consumption is 6.5 litres per 100 kilometres.
As an added bonus, the Vento Allstar is equipped with the new MY VW Drive App, which provides added convenience at the driver’s fingertips. Functions include driving style and fuel consumption tracking, and the app enhances the drive with smart capabilities that keep the driver safe and in control while providing insights on the car’s condition and performance. Additionally, users are able to access Mondial Roadside Assistance in the case of an emergency.
The Vento GT
The Vento GT is priced from RM89,888, and comes with a total of RM9,000 worth of exclusive accessories such as ‘Satin” black roof and exterior mirror wraps, black door strips and trunk garnish, leather seats, aluminium sports pedals, GT Aerokit, ‘GT’ scuff plates, emblems and carpet mats. Colours offered are Reflex Silver and Candy White.
The Vento GT is powered by the award-winning 1.2 litre turbocharged direct injection TSI engine with an output of 105 PS and 175Nm of torque. Paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission, the Vento boasts of the highest torque in its class and promises superior drivability and performance, yet delivers a rated fuel consumption of only 5.5 litres per 100 kilometres.
