PRAGUE, May 25 ― Skoda has unveiled the Citijet, a two-seater convertible concept that will go on display at the Wörthersee Festival in Austria from May 28 to 31. Based on the Citigo, the sporty concept was designed and built by apprentices at the brand’s professional training centre.

This unique model, with its striking appearance, is the result of a project carried out by 16 apprentices at the Skoda University. The Citijet stands out mainly for its metallic blue and white paint job and its 16-inch alloy wheels. The model also has a rear spoiler and an exhaust with two tailpipes.

The inside includes a leather-covered three-spoke steering wheel with red stitching, as well as a leather-covered handbrake handle and gear shift knob. A 300W audio system and LED lighting have also been installed.

Under the hood, the Skoda Citijet has a 1.0-litre MPI engine with 75hp.

The concept car is being displayed primarily as a way to showcase the work of the future engineers and designers the brand is training at its facilities. There are no plans to turn the Citijet into a production model. ― AFP-Relaxnews
