PORT DICKSON, Sept 26 — The largest water homes resort in Malaysia, The Hibiscus, near here, is expected to be ready by November 2014.
The project, which covers a 17.40-hectare area embracing the foreshore of the sea, is now 60 per cent complete.
The iconic resort project, featuring 642 water homes built on stilts over the sea, is a joint venture between Kuala Lumpur Metro Group (KL Metro) and Negeri Sembilan’s state government investment arm, Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan (Incorporation).
KL Metro Managing Director Datuk Low Tak Fatt said The Hibiscus was designed by world renowned architect, Broadway Malyan of London, which has designed countless iconic projects worldwide.
“The overall shape and design of the project resembles our national flower, the hibiscus. The theme of The Hibiscus is based on modern concept. Each unit has spacious and stylish design that exudes quiet elegant charm.
“Each unit comes with its own private pool, sauna room and every unit has panoramic sea view over the Straits of Malacca. Besides, there is a clear transparent glass panel in the bedroom for underneath sea water viewing,” he told Bernama here today.
He said the project had also incorporated a lot of green concepts such as floor to ceiling height glass windows in the bedroom, bathroom and pool deck area which allows for generous offering of natural sunlight, thereby resulting in electricity savings.
In addition, the round roof structure would deflect much of the sun’s heat, he said.
The star rating of The Hibiscus is a designated five-star hotel, he added. — Bernama
