KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 — The rumours are over: local M-pop powerhouse Alpha is officially set to headline their first-ever solo concert this September.

The surprise announcement came directly from Mathan Rajasingam, head of Rocketfuel Entertainment, during the group’s debut album launch and fan-meet at Pavilion Damansara Heights yesterday evening.

The venue erupted in cheers as the seven members, visibly stunned by the news, shared the moment with their dedicated fanbase.

Alpha exploded onto the scene last year with viral hits like Mona Lisa (Bang Bang) and P. Ramlee Saloma. The group features a diverse lineup of Daniel Sher, Izat Ibrahim, Rizal Rasid, Ariel Fesol, Araff, Ray-D, and Afiq Sky.

“We really didn't know anything about this at all. That's why we were so shocked, but at the same time, thrilled because everything happened so fast. Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), this is our blessing. We hope we can make this first concert a complete success,” Ariel said.

Rizal admitted that the rapid ascent experienced in just one year of formation has brought its share of pressure, though he noted the group is built for this intensity.

“Of course the pressure is there but we accept it with open hearts and we see this as a blessing especially when this is something that each of us has been waiting for, even years in the making.

“And what we’ve learned from those years is that anything can happen at any time. Alhamdulillah, with this concert, we hope that it could further motivate us to do even better and contribute more for Alpha,” Rizal said.

Alpha’s journey began on the hit Astro reality competition Big Stage Alpha in 2025. The group is a unique collective of established solo vocalists, ranging from 19 to 35 years old, who have successfully merged their individual styles into a synchronised, modern M-pop force.

Despite the age gap and varied backgrounds, Izat said that the group’s chemistry remains their top priority.

“The brotherhood is there, the friendship is there despite our age differences. When it comes to our work, we really have the same goals despite the many characters of our group. When it comes to work, we are serious about it – we want to make everything perfect or as close to perfection as possible,” he said.

Since their breakout last June, Alpha has maintained a successful streak. Rocketfuel yesterday claimed the group has amassed over 100 million streams across digital platforms, in addition to recently winning a nomination at the Music Awards Japan 2026 in the ‘Best of Listeners’ Choice: International Song’ category.

The group also celebrated the release of their 12-track debut album, The First Wave, yesterday. The project features collaborations with Malaysian industry icons, including actress-singer Daiyan Trisha and Hujan’s legendary guitarist and composer, AG Coco.

While the September concert is now a certainty, both the group and Rocketfuel Entertainment have kept further details, including the specific venue and ticketing, under wraps for now.
