LOS ANGELES, Oct 31 — In an interesting twist of things amid all that “just hanging out” with Justin Bieber talk, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd have reportedly called it quits.

According to various reports, Gomez and The Weeknd have ended their relationship after 10 months of dating. The split comes after multiple sightings of Gomez and former flame Biebs spending time together recently. 

According to People, their distance apart put a strain on the relationship between Gomez and The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye.

“She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship. It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them.

“It’s been hard for them to come to the realisation that this is the direction things were heading, but it’s been hard for months,” the site quoted a source as saying. 

Hollywoodlife.com meanwhile reports that the split was brought upon by the fact that The Weeknd was unhappy that Gomez and Biebs were spending a lot of time together.   

The site quoted a source as saying: “Abel is heartbroken that Selena and Justin are spending time together after their split.

“He trusted her — but can’t help but wonder if he [Justin] had been on her mind while they were together. It just makes their split more painful than it already is. Abel thought she was the one.”
