LONDON, Nov 8 ― The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta) has confirmed that next year’s EE British Academy Film Awards will be moved to London’s Royal Albert Hall.
The awards have been held at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden for the last ten years, however it is currently undergoing refurbishment.
The announcement comes after months of speculation about where the next event would be held, and marks the first time that the Baftas have been held at the iconic London location since 1997.
It has also been confirmed that Stephen Fry will be returning for the 12th time to host the event, which next year will celebrate the 70th edition of the ceremony.
Entertainment will also be provided from the Cirque du Soleil, which will be in residence at the Royal Albert Hall at the time of the awards.
The Baftas will take place February 12, 2017. ― AFP-Relaxnews
