KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 10 ― Malaysia's total palm oil stocks fell by 0.23 per cent to 1.770 million tonnes in July against against 1.774 million tonnes in the previous month, said the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).

In a statement today, MPOB said crude palm oil stocks rose by 4.58 per cent to 1.02 million tonnes in July against 975,850 tonnes the previous month.

It said processed palm oil stocks fell by 6.1 per cent to 750,096 tonnes in July from 798,800 tonnes in June.

MPOB said crude palm oil output in July increased by 3.48 per cent to 1.59 million tonnes from 1.53 million tonnes in June.

Palm kernel output eased by 0.95 per cent to 367,516 tonnes in July from 371,048 tonnes the previous month, it said.

The board said July palm oil exports expanded by 21.24 per cent to 1.38 million tonnes (June: 1.14 million tonnes); palm kernel cake rose 22.5 per cent to 234,174 tonnes (June: 191,159 tonnes); oleochemicals increased by 3.21 per cent to 232,216 tonnes (June: 224,993 tonnes); and, biodiesel surged 72.29 per cent to 16,764 tonnes (June: 9,730 tonnes).

Exports of palm kernel oil declined by 13.78 per cent to 69,094 tonnes in July from 80,135 tonnes in June, it said. ― Bernama
