KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were lower in early trading today as traders stayed on the sidelines, a dealer said.
At 9.25 am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 7.67 points easier at 1,606.35.
Market breadth, however, was positive with gainers outpacing decliners by 174 to 129 while 182 counters were unchanged, 1,330 untraded and 12 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 230.04 million shares worth RM145.93 million.
The FBM Emas Index declined by 34.20 points to 11,032.80, FBMT100 Index fell 38.78 points to 10,760.48 and the FBM Emas Shariah Index eased 0.01 point to 11,523.69.
The FBM 70 improved 3.82 points to 11,859.09 and the FBM Ace added 50.54 points to 5,490.76.
On a sectoral basis, the Plantation Index fell 60.95 points to 6,844.38 and the Finance Index declined 117.49 points to 14,099.30.
The Industrial Index added 4.65 points to 3,084.50.
Among heavyweights, Maybank fell seven sen to RM8.48, Public Bank declined eight sen to RM17.94 and TNB eased two sen to RM11.10.
Axiata gained two sen to RM5.95.
Among the actively-traded stocks were AirAsia, AirAsia X, UEM Sunrise, Iris and Metronic. — Bernama
